West Texas Solar Farm Powering 62,000 Homes.
This 327-megawatt solar energy project in Pecos County (near McCamey, Texas) consists of 20 miles of road, 87 foundations and the installation of more than 819,000 solar panels over 2,200 acres. Pecos County is located in the Permian Basin of West Texas. Blattner’s scope of work included engineering, design, testing and commissioning of the entire site as well as a 345-kilovolt substation. This project was completed in September 2021. The solar farm is estimated to produce sufficient clean energy to power approximately 62,000 United States homes.
