Annual Blattner Energy Employee Giveback Event Produces Thousands of Care Packages for Service Members

Blattner Energy, a power generation contractor and the leading installer of renewable energy in North America, partnered with Beyond the Yellow Ribbon for their annual giveback event in which employees created 3,400 care packages and 170 tie blankets to be distributed to service members.

More than 450 employees and their significant others participated in the 2-hour event by packing care packages and making tie blankets that were then donated to Guard Units. A total of more than 129,000 items made up of snacks, treats, games and other basic necessities were filled into the care packages, and took up the space of 12 pallets.

This giveback event is a part of Blattner Energy’s annual conference for culture and leadership training because of the value the company and its employees place on character and concern for others – which is a cornerstone of the Blattner culture. Each year, the company partners with a local organization to create an opportunity for its employees and their significant others to give back to the community.

This year, the company partnered with Beyond the Yellow Ribbon. This organization has a comprehensive program that creates awareness for the purpose of connecting Servicemembers and their families with community, support, training, services and resources. They do this in many ways, a few being by connecting and coordinating organizations to provide resources and support, and providing opportunities for Minnesotans to support Servicemembers and their families.
