Blattner Energy Internship Program
Blattner Energy offers flexible internships to fulltime students seeking to gain valuable, hands-on experience outside of the classroom. As an intern, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work on one of our project teams across the country under one of three positions:
- Internship - Field Engineer
- Internship - Electrical Field Engineer
- Internship - Safety Coordinator
When do you offer internships?
What is their duration? Our internships are offered in the summer (June, July, August) and the spring (March, April, May). They are typically three months long with flexible start and end dates. We’re happy to accommodate various academic calendars.
Do I need to be a fulltime student to apply?
Yes, you must be a fulltime student to intern with us. Our interns are generally juniors or seniors who are in the process of obtaining a four-year degree in construction management, civil engineering, electrical engineering, occupational health/safety or a related field.
How many interns does Blattner Energy accept?
We accept up to 20 qualified interns per season. We seek bright and enthusiastic students who are willing to work hard, develop their skills and knowledge, and help contribute to overall success of our projects.
Is the internship paid?
Yes, our internships are paid. We also reimburse lodging expenses as well as one-time mileage to and from your project site.
Can my internship be taken for course credit?
Yes, many students apply their internship with Blattner Energy towards course credit although this is not required. If you are interning with us for credit, we’re happy to work within the guidelines of your school by completing any necessary paperwork, progress reports, evaluations, etc.
What can I expect during my internship experience?
You’ll receive hands-on training and mentoring from experienced professionals who have loads of knowledge to share. But they’ve also got jobs to do, too. So, we’ll expect you to dive in, contribute your ideas and enthusiasm, and work hard to help the team succeed. In the end, you’ll have improved your technical skills, leadership abilities and problem-solving skills in real project situations.
Will I have an opportunity to be hired as a fulltime employee?
Our internships provide a chance for us to get to know each other. If you demonstrate talent and potential, and, most importantly, if you enjoy and succeed in our team-oriented culture, we’ll ask you to consider joining us as a fulltime employee after graduation. Although our offers are limited by position availability, the majority of our interns are asked to stay with us fulltime.
